These are group exhibition photos in Lisbon, Portugal of an artist group “Urban Dialogue” which I collaborate with for 9 years. I also went to Lisbon for this preparation.
\nThere are 10 members in “Urban Dialogue” in total, 7 artists participated in the exhibition this time, and 5 people gathered in the exhibition space.
\nEspa\u00e7o Espelho D’\u00e1gua is a complex culture center consisting of gastronomy restaurant, exhibition space and rooms for artist in residence.
\nIt is in the best location on the banks of the Tagus River. There is a palace near here, owner Mr. Mario says “This is one of the most scenic places in Lisbon so the palace was built here, that is one of the reason why I decided to open Espa\u00e7o Espelho D’\u00e1gua here.
\nI stayed in a room for artist in residence here for a week and prepared for exhibition with other artists.
\n<\/span>They provided us breakfast and one another meal per day, we ate at the restaurant here every day, we ate at a terrace seat overlooking the river with a meal while drinking Portuguese wine and the taste is also very nice It was as if I came to a vacation.
\nIt is just next to next door\u00a0<\/span>on the west side of the monument of discovery in the Bel\u00e9m area, so I also recommend this place for those traveling to Lisbon. There are some restaurants that are expensive and not very tasty as these are sightseeing spots around here, but I think if you come here you won’t be\u00a0disappointed.\u00a0<\/span>But just because here is so popular, it is very crowded depending on the time.<\/p>\n

\nOur exhibition mirrors a global voyage undertaken by curious, international artists from around the world propelled towards the Tagus River via currents and streams joined together by the fluidity of ideas. Lisbon, once the world\u2019s greatest capital of navigational exploration has become the 21st century port of call for the fleet of the four continent artists collective, Urban Dialogues.<\/p>\n

Anchored to the cuisine of Espa\u00e7o Espelho d\u00b4\u00c1gua that echoes both the inclusive and distinctive flavors of points East and West, Urban Dialogues artists reflect this plethora of exotic taste by offering up creative work through a sea of sounds and images that conjoin different cultures and ideas highlighting their differences and similarities.<\/p>\n

URBAN DIALOGUES<\/strong>
\nUrban Dialogues is a group of artists from different cities and cultures, experimenting with collaborations which bridge their global diversity and artistic similarities.<\/p>\n

The group examines the complex interactions between artists, cultures, nature, urban interventions, cities, and technology, via photography, digital art and video, capturing the contradictions and analogies of our individual and collective histories, reflecting today’s new era of global engagement. UD artists all met via an artist social networking website, came together and and developed works using virtual tools.<\/p>\n

The group will spend the week of September 24th to 29th at the Espa\u00e7o Espelho D’\u00c1gua Art Residence, giving sequence to a work process that started in April this year and will be finalized with the group’s exhibition on the 30th of September.<\/p>\n

SAME SEA<\/strong><\/p>\n

When you see yourself
\nas a little boat on a river
\nand the river is getting bigger
\nyou flow with the water as
\nthe opposite direction
\nis impossible to go<\/p>\n

You have no paddles
\nstuck in bushes by the shore
\nmeet uncertain peril
\nas well as soothing harmony<\/p>\n

and all things in between<\/p>\n

Within a river\u2019s stream of life
\nno life is the same, even if floated
\nalongside the world\u2019s population<\/p>\n

We all have to flux our own river
\ninto tributaries that anchor us
\nto the same body of water<\/p>\n

The waves of the estuary
\nare almost no waves
\nthey are slower
\ntherefore more beautiful<\/p>\n

In the end
\nall the rivers mix and swirl into a
\nsea of similarity.<\/p>\n
