全然知らなかったんだけどバスに乗ってたら蘇州郊外の”木読;(MuDu)”という古鎮にたまたま通りかかったので降りてみました。
えー、通りに古本屋があったので”江南名鎮”と”老蘇州”っていう本を買って帰ってから見てみますと「春秋時代に呉王の夫差が美人西施のため、霊岩山（近くにある山）に”館娃宮”を建てるときに運んだ木材が川を塞いだと言われ木瀆と名付けた。町の中には明と清の時代の個人庭園が多く庭園の古鎮と誉められた。」だそうだ。
私は結局土産物屋を見つつ通りをぶらぶらと歩いただけで、庭園なんて一個も入らなかった！惜しい事したかなーとちょっと後悔…
I didn’t anything about here, but when I took a bus I happened to passed by this old town “MuDu”, so I decided to get off and walk around.
Uh–, I found a used bookstore and bought “Townships of fame in Jiangnan” and “Old Suzhou”. After I went home I read them, it says, “MuDu meaning ‘timbers blocking the rivers’, comes from a story: During the Spring and Autumn period, King Wu was building ‘Guanwa Palace” for his concubine Xishi. The timbers rafted here were so many that they blocked the rivers. With many Ming and Qing period gardens, Mudu is called ‘Town of Gardens’.
I just walked around and walked through the souvenir shop, I didn’t go inside the garden! I kind of regret that I missed these gardens…
