Taro Okamoto with Namahage

I went to the Okamoto Taro exhibition in Museum of Modern Art Tokyo.

I thought that the power of his artworks comes from the power of humanbeing from ancient time until now.

The good points of him — he always worked very hard for something he’d interested in and he always tried hard to tell people these things.

Actually, he was a simple and straightforward guy in what he talks and what he does, I think it’s amazing that he kept doing in his style in such a complicated society.

Taro Okamoto learned folklore from Marcel Morse when he was in Paris, he also wrote books about folklore.
About Jomon pottery, Okinawan culture, the culture of the Northeast, Korean culture, etc., he published books with pictures shoot by himself.
Because he had this background, he could make these human odor and sometimes hard core taste artworks.

But now I’m into Namahage because Namahage video was played at the venue and it was the best match.
Of course why Namahage was so impressive is because it was with Taro Okamoto’s work.
However, Namahage was the most impressive …
