Teahouse “Kaika-ro” Kanazawa Higashi Chaya District 2014-07-07 I visited this building about 20 years ago, I was very impressed by the colorful tatami dyed with plant dyeing. And this building is still kept in very good condition.
This building is open to public at daytime and still used for “Ozashiki” (party in a tatami room with a geisha) at night.

Back street photo Higashichaya district, Kanazawa city 2014-07-06 Buildings around here used to be tea house ( some of them are still used), Higashichaya district in Kanazawa is a quaint street lined with old buildings.
It’s interesting to walk around the main street crowded with tourists & there are a lot of shops, but also try some stroll the neighborhood is interesting, there are many temples and shrines.

Now, they holds Leandro Erlich’s solo exhibition ” The Ordinary?”, he made this museum’s main artwork “swimming pool”.
