I’m participating in a group show “TOKYO ILLUSION” which is the first exhibition in the newly opened art space in Dali District, Taichung, Taiwan.
If you live in Taichung, or if you have any opportunity to visit Taichung, please come and see!
The exhibition space is very large, 1800 square meters, and 28 Japanese contemporary artists are exhibiting.
The installation work I exhibit is which I created and exhibited in Suzhou, China in March and exhibited in Yokohama, Japan. And I added more parts and made it larger for this exhibition.

Contemporary Fiber Artist Hidemi Shimura
An artist who creates artworks mainly using embroidery threads. Majored in fashion design at university, and after graduation began working in 3DCG production. In 2005, she began her career as a contemporary artist. In 2006, she moved to Shanghai, a city she fell in love with after a company trip. Although she did not intend to stay in Shanghai for that long, she ended up living there for almost 7 years due to unexpected matters, such as the closure of art galleries due to the world economy crisis. Returned to Japan in December 2013 and currently resides in Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture. Continues to work as a contemporary artist. Currently, she is working on creating many artworks for the 20th anniversary of her career as an artist in 2025.
