I have uploaded 19 new works from the Morning Dawn series! 現代美術, Hidemi Shimura, Hidemi Shimura, ART, hidemishimura, fiberart, contemporaryart Hidemi Shimura

I had been creating and saving these works with the strong desire to display them in this arrangement for my solo exhibition. Now that the pieces are completed and photographed, I have uploaded them all at once to my portfolio page. Please take a look!

However, I have an exhibition coming up next month in Guangzhou, and I plan to bring about three of these works there. So I will be adding a few more pieces to the series. Some of the works will be slightly different when it comes time for the solo exhibition. The solo show is scheduled for the end of July in Tokyo. I will share more details as the exhibition date approaches.

One point that is different from my previous works is that this time, several pieces were inspired by the colors of a desert sunrise.
These works were created in response to the Gaza invasion by Israel. As a Japanese person, I naturally associated sunrises with the ocean—something rising from the sea. But then I realized, “Of course, there are people who see the sunrise over the desert too.” That inspired me to create works based on the colors of desert sunrises.
Please try to guess which ones they are when you look at the images!

This series is particularly aimed at offering encouragement and healing to people.
I create these works with the hope that they can uplift and comfort people living in all kinds of different environments around the world.

At the solo exhibition, the works will be displayed together as shown in the layout above, with a variety of sunrises gathered in one place. I would be so happy if many people could come and see them!
