New artwork inspired by summer scenery in Japan  Hidemi ShimuraI stayed at a small island in Northeast Japan in this summer. This artwork is inspired by that beautiful scenery of ocean and nature. (dimension 110cm x 21 cm)

I’ll exhibit this artwork at TDW art fair in Tokyo Designer’s Week since tomorrow (30th) to Nov 3rd, open 11:00am – 9:00pm (close at 8:00pm in  last day).
My booth No. is C-4, the entrance fee to Tokyo Designer’s Week costs 3,000JPN. But there are more design & art events held together.

I hope many people will come and see my artworks !

Contemporary Fiber Artist Hidemi Shimura
An artist who creates artworks mainly using embroidery threads. Majored in fashion design at university, and after graduation began working in 3DCG production. In 2005, she began her career as a contemporary artist. In 2006, she moved to Shanghai, a city she fell in love with after a company trip. Although she did not intend to stay in Shanghai for that long, she ended up living there for almost 7 years due to unexpected matters, such as the closure of art galleries due to the world economy crisis. Returned to Japan in December 2013 and currently resides in Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture. Continues to work as a contemporary artist. Currently, she is working on creating many artworks for the 20th anniversary of her career as an artist in 2025.
